K - 1st Grade:  Two items may be checked out.

2nd – 5th Grade:  Three items may be checked out.

All Students:  Additional items may be checked out for class projects as needed.

How many total items can a student have?

How long do materials circulate?

Can I renew my books?

Students are encouraged to bring their books to the library every week.  If a book is not on hold for another patron, students may renew their books two times.

Do you charge fines for late, lost or damaged books?

There are no fines charged for materials returned late, however it is expected that materials are returned or renewed by their due date.

Students may not check out additional materials if they currently have overdue materials out.

Students are responsible for payment for lost or damaged books.

What happens if I forget my library books?

If students forget to bring their library books, they may choose a book for the save shelf.  They can check these books out if they return/renew their books within two days.

How do you help students select books and respect their freedom to read?

All students are taught how to select a "just right" book at the beginning of the school year.  This lesson is reinforced throughout the year as they are assisted in finding at least one book to check out that is an appropriate book for them to read independently.  Students may also check out other books that are interesting to them.
