Aiken School is named in honor of Mary Louise Aiken, a devoted educator. This is a wonderful place to learn and grow! Students in preschool through grade five receive an outstanding education under the direction and support of our dedicated teachers and staff. We treat everyone and everything with respect, take responsibility for our learning, and keep each other safe.

The mission of Aiken Elementary School is to ensure each child develops skills, knowledge and a sense of accomplishment through achievement, as a foundation for lifelong learning, responsible citizenship, and the realization of individual potential, through a rigorous curriculum, outstanding teaching, and an enthusiastic and involved parent community.

Aiken School Goals

Goal 1: Advance achievement for all students and reduce disparity between and among groups.

Goal 2: Create Safe and Respectful Learning Environments. Nurture the intellectual, physical and emotional well-being of students and create a safe and respectful learning community where all students are held to high expectations.

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

PBIS creates a positive environment in schools that promotes responsible, safe and respectful behavior. PBIS focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students. It is a school-wide approach for problem solving, planning, and evaluation. The PBIS team regularly uses behavior data to address areas of concern in the school. This process fosters a safe environment where students achieve academically and build positive relationships with each other and with staff.
